Litigation has underpinned Hong Kong's LGBT+ movement for decades. A handful of court decisions in recent years have helped made incremental steps in recognising same-sex unions, though the fight for full marriage equality remains an uphill battle. Evelyn Tsao, a public interest lawyer with substantial experience in advocating for LGBT+ rights, will offer a retrospective of these cases, and insights into the future of LGBT+ advocacy in Hong Kong courts.
